Wicca = Satan
By David J. Stewart | May 2005
There is a new book that witches around the world are drooling over. It's title is Witchcraft Out of the Shadows, and it's Author is Leo Ruickbie. The website is www.witchcraftoutoftheshadows.com. In a dark time of apostasy around the world, witchcraft is sadly rearing it's ugly head like never before. With Harry Potter, Sabrina the Witch, the Witches TV series, the Church of Satan, and so many other godless influences on our young people, it's to no surprise that the devil is gaining ground quickly. Let may say right from the beginning...WITCHCRAFT OF ALL FORMS IS SATANIC! The witches and Wiccans can deny it all they want, the Bible is the FINAL AUTHORITY on this matter, not the witches. The Word of God is eternal, it never changes because God never changes...
"For I am the LORD, I change not..." -Malachi 3:6
God says in His Word that WITCHCRAFT IS A SIN...
"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft..." -1st Samuel 15:23
The same God that condemned witchcraft in the Old Testament still condemns witchcraft today. God loves all people (including witches), but he hates sin. Psalm 97:10 challenges ALL Christians to HATE SIN...
"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil..." -Psalms 97:10
I hate witchcraft, but I love all people. It is WRONG to hate people. I don't hate anyone, despite what my enemies would like to believe. I DO hate sin because God has commanded me to hate sin. ALL believers should hate sin. I love Jesus Christ and am faithfully obeying the Bible by exposing witchcraft. Wicca is black witchcraft. ALL witchcraft is black because there is no such thing as "white sin." To claim that there is "white witchcraft" is to claim that there is "white sin." There is NO such thing as a little "white lie," all lying is as dark as the blackness of hell. ALL sin is black, dark and evil. I am just addressing the witches on their own terms, since they like to differentiate between "white" and "black" witchcraft. If that is the case, then ALL witchcraft is very black, evil through and through.
There is a frightening trend amongst witches to attempt to repackage (to redefine) their history. This new book, Witchcraft Out of the Shadows, attempts to do just that. Leo Ruickbie tries to discredit Christianity and the Bible with his flawed reasonings. He tries to explain "where witchcraft came from?," and "where it is going?" I have a one word answer for the curious reader for both question: HELL
Ruickbie claims to have done an "in-depth" investigation into history to survey the dark-side of the human psyche and it's bias against witchcraft over the centuries. He goes on to claim that many of today's modern negative ideas concerning witchcraft originate in ancient myths and religions. In short, Ruickbie is saying that the Bible is flawed having it's origins in ancient myths. The entire premise of the modern day witchcraft movement is that the Bible is NOT God's Word. Of course, they are 100% WRONG! The Bible is God's eternal, inspired, infallible, inerrant, preserved Word. As you can clearly see, there is NO common ground between Christians and witches. Christians believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word, and the witches denounce it as myths and superstitions.
What does the Bible say? The first mention of the word "witch" in the Bible was made by Moses in Exodus 22:18. God had instructed Moses to establish the death penalty for anyone proven guilty of committing the sin of witchcraft. Wow! For a sin to be punishable by death, it must have been pretty serious to God. Notice again the Scripture I quoted to you earlier from 1st Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft..." Witchcraft is equal to rebellion! Witchcraft is rebellion against God. The Bible condemns witches and witchcraft, I don't have to.
"And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger." -2nd Chronicles 33:6
Wiccan witches are desperately trying to distance themselves from the "black witches" as they call them. According to the Wiccans, they are a religion of equality and compassion. Wiccans are attempting to JUSTIFY witchcraft on the premise of their contributions to society, their compassion, and their acceptance of ALL groups (including homosexuals and lesbians). What relevance do any of these things have with witchcraft? The Bible leaves NO room for compromise, witchcraft is of the devil and is an ABOMINATION unto the Lord. Witchcraft didn't originate in Ancient Greece, it originated in hell.
The following is an outline of the book, Witchcraft Out of the Shadows, with comments by Leo Ruickbie (source):
Part One: Age of Shadows
The Early History of Witchcraft in Europe
The Birthplace of All Sorceries: Witchcraft in Ancient Greece
Beginning with the pre-eminent goddess of witchcraft, Hecate, we explore the character of ancient witchcraft through the mythological figures of Circe and Medea. How did Hecate become Goddess of the Underworld? Why did Circe use strange potions to enslave all those who set foot on her magic island? Why did Medea kill her own children? Why are such cruel and fantastic women associated with witchcraft?
East of Midgard: Witchcraft in Northern Europe
In the mythological imagination of the Northern Europeans, East of Midgard was their very own 'Birthplace of All Sorceries.' Almost entirely overlooked, this Northern heritage has significantly contributed to our current ideas of witchcraft.
South of Heaven: Witchcraft in Mediaeval & Early Modern Europe
The Witches of the European Dark Ages come flying towards us out of the past's stygian mire in a wild cavalcade, riding devils and broomsticks, followed by black cats and poisonous toads to be consumed in the fires, not of Hell, but of fear and hatred, greed and lust.
Part Two: Born of Shadows
The Origins of Modern Witchcraft
Celtic Twilight and Golden Dawn: The Romantic Revival of Witchcraft and Magic
The European witch-hunts were over, but witchcraft and the idea of witchcraft would never die out. In the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries witchcraft was re-examined, re-interpreted and, ultimately, re-invented. But by whom and for why?
The Craft of Invention: The Creation of the Wiccan Religion
It is the Riddle of the Sphinx Lodge, the secret at the heart of Wicca. Where did Wicca come from? Who was Gerald Gardner? Was Freemasonry involved? Or something darker? What part did the 'Wickedest Man in the World' have to play?
Out of the Cauldron, Into the Fire: The Growth and Development of Wicca
Out of the seething cauldron of its inventor's fertile imagination, shameless plagiarism, energy and ambition came the most radical and fastest growing religion of the Twentieth and now Twenty-First Century. How did this happen? Who were the people who shaped this development?
Part Three: Empire of Shadows
Witchcraft in the World Today
The Society of Witches: A Profile of Modern Witches
It is time to shake the wand of serious, scientific research at the stereotypes that still haunt the perception of Witchcraft. It is time to dispel the sweet and fearful fantasy of evil and find out who are today's Witches. Are they, as Shakespeare called them, dark and midnight hags? The answer might surprise you.
Calling Down the Moon: Belief and Experience in Modern Witchcraft
Even today, long after the horrors of the witch trials, people still think they worship the Devil despite their protestations to the contrary, but the question is: what do today's Witches worship? What are their beliefs? What are the experiences that shape those beliefs? You will find their answers frank, revealing and extra-ordinary.
Drawing the Magic Circle: The Definition, Use and Effect of Magic in Witchcraft
Magic, the word itself conjures up the strangest ideas, but what does it mean to those who use it? What do they use it for? What effect does that use have on them? I asked the Witches themselves. Do you want to know what they said?
Old Ways, New Directions: Evaluating Witchcraft from its Earliest Beginnings to its Future Potentialities
Witches and Witchcraft are no longer what they were thought to be. Gone are the pacts with the Devil, the evil imp familiars and toe-curling curses. In their place we find a vital religion practicing spiritual equality and seeking the improvement of the world. This new religion finds fertile soil for its rapid and increasing growth in today's social climate of post-Christianization and re-enchantment.
END QUOTE
I would just like to comment on the last paragraph above by Leo Ruickbie...
"Witches and Witchcraft are no longer what they were thought to be. Gone are the pacts with the Devil, the evil imp familiars and toe-curling curses. In their place we find a vital religion practicing spiritual equality and seeking the improvement of the world. This new religion finds fertile soil for its rapid and increasing growth in today's social climate of post-Christianization and re-enchantment." -Leo Ruickbie
Don't be deceived friend, witchcraft can put on a NEW FACE but it's the same ole false religion of the devil. "Ruickbie calls witchcraft, "This new religion..." Don't be fooled, witchcraft is as old as Satan. No matter how good the witches intentions may be or how nice they may have become, the Word of God condemns witchcraft in every form. The witches are trying to be accepted because they promote diversity and are conscious about the environment, but this is all irrelevant because the Bible makes no provision for the wicked. Just because a beer company may feed the homeless doesn't justify their evil works. Just because the Playboy company may donate money to help find a cure for cancer doesn't justify their evil works. Witchcraft is an evil work which must be rejected by every God-fearing person. The rapid growth of Wiccan witchcraft can be attributed to the same cause behind abortion, gambling, homosexuality, divorce, lasciviousness, and every other sin...APOSTASY (a turning away from God). The world is a wicked place (1st John 5:19). Everybody needs to protest witchcraft of EVERY FORM and shun it's presence in our homes. Let us please the Lord God by hating evil and taking a stand against it...
"Who will rise up for me against the
evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"
-Psalm 94:16
