Not Everyone Who Gets Hit by a Drunk Driver Dies!
by David J. Stewart
"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise ... Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel." -Proverbs 20:1,17
Take a good look at the photo above! This is what alcohol does! Notice in Proverb 20:1 that God speaks of the man who drinks alcohol as "DECEIVED." This Old Testament word "deceived," in Hebrew means, "to reel in." In other words, alcohol is just reeling you in, little by little, and then day, BANG! No one in their right mind would ever wake up and say, "What a beautiful day, I think I'll have a few drinks and kill someone with my car." BUT IT HAPPENS! No one ever says, "I think I'll have a few drinks tonight and put someone in a wheelchair for the rest of their life." BUT IT HAPPENS! No one would ever say, "I think I'll run over a pregnant woman and kill her and her child." BUT I STOOD OVER THE DEAD BODIES AS THEY WERE LOWERED INTO THE GRAVES! I'll never forget seeing that little casket lowered into the grave as the husband wept in uncontrollable tears. A drunk man had plowed into her under the influence of beer, Liquid Devil.
As a Dog Returns to His VomitI used to work with a man from Iowa. His name was Dean, a big guy. I watched him unload a truck differential (rear axle) with his bare hands. It must have weighed 300 lbs. But Dean had a drinking problem. He told me one day that he had been sued, and that he owed $19,000. His wages were being garnished, check by check for years to come. He had been drinking one day with a buddy, then they went for a ride in his pickup truck, but Dean wrecked. Dean's friend was injured pretty bad. Well, long story short, his friend sued him and won...$19,000. You'd think that people would learn, but the Bible teaches that a fool will keep repeating his foolishness (Proverb 26:11, "As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly." It wasn't but a couple months later that Dean came into work one day after having a few drinks. He was trying to cut a piece of rubber hose for a truck he was working on; but instead of cutting the hose in two, he ran the knife clear through his hand and severed his finger badly. Dean was off work for over a month. Day after day he would come into work, and you couldn't tell if he was in his right mind or not. You could smell liquor on his breath, but you couldn't tell if he was drunk or not. So we had to watch him closely. Just as a dog returning to eat his vomit, so did Dean continue to drink his beer.
Playing Russian RouletteOh listen to me friend, don't be a fool. Drinking ANY alcoholic beverage is nothing less than playing Russian Roulette. I heard on the news that comedian, Tim Allen, had been arrested for a DUI. When I used to live in Chicago, I was saddened to hear on the news that legendary TV anchorman, Walter Jacobson, had been arrested for a DUI. The I heard on the news that famous singer, Glenn Campbell, had been arrested for a DUI. On and on the list goes...who will be next until someone gets killed. My point is simply that liquor is DECEITFUL by nature, just as God said it was in Proverb 20:1. A person can drink for many years and handle it very well, but it only take ONE TIME to end someone's life (or your own). Out of all the great beverages to drink, why play Russian Roulette with other people's lives by consuming alcohol. Alcohol is a drug, and that's a FACT.
Blood Money
The FDA is greatly to blame and the government leaders who control the FDA. Why is it that so many drugs are not available over-the-control; but alcohol is, when alcohol is far more threatening and deadly than most of the regulated drugs? Could it be that the billion dollar alcohol manufacturing companies are stuffing the pockets of greedy and dishonest politicians with money? Of course that's the reason, and it's an abomination unto God Almighty! I'll tell you, there is no evil in America any greater than the lobbyists (law firms) that funnel blood money to Washington lawmakers and politicians to buy injustice. It is beyond evil.
Of all the hundreds-of-billions of tax dollars taken in by the government from alcohol sales, how much of that money do you think goes to THE VICTIMS of drunk drivers? Chump change! For those who defend alcohol, I promise you that you would change your mind if you saw some drunken plastered fool sitting in his car, with your son crushed under the vehicle. Could you really, with your son's blood flowing out from under the vehicle, tell me eye-to-eye that you think alcohol should be legal? If you can, then you are an inspiration to fool's everywhere.
Jesus Didn't Make AlcoholI'm so sick and tired of hearing idiots defend their drinking by claiming that Jesus drank alcoholic wine. No He didn't! Jesus did not make intoxicating wine and you can't prove that from the Scriptures. I'll tell you why I know He didn't. The Old Testament clearly warns that God hates "...hands that shed innocent blood" (Proverbs 6:16,17). If Jesus turned water into intoxicating wine for the wedding quests, then there would be nothing wrong with all the alcohol companies today who manufacture alcoholic beverages. There would be nothing wrong with selling beer. There would be nothing wrong with taverns and the trucks that deliver beer. If Jesus made intoxicating wine for other people to drink, then there would be nothing wrong with alcohol at all. Are you so foolish to believe this? Do you actually think that Jesus Christ would risk having someone else's blood on His hands because of alcohol He made? No way! Jesus wouldn't gamble with someone's life.
Do you think Jesus was blind to the evil's of alcohol? Do you think little children weren't being attacked by drunkard mothers and fathers in Jesus' day? Do you think that drunks weren't getting into fights in Jesus' day? Do you think Jesus didn't know about the drunkenness of Noah, or the drunkenness of Eli's sons, or the drunkard in Proverbs 23:29-35? Do you think Jesus didn't know about Proverb 20:1? Do you think women weren't being gang raped by drunken thugs in Jesus' day? Do you think people weren't being injured, or killed, because of alcohol in Jesus' day? Do you think the world had improved since Sodom and Gomorrah? And let me remind you, Sodom and Gomorrah existed AFTER the flood in Noah's day. It wasn't long after the flood, that men went right back to their vomit. Mankind is truly prone to wickedness and destruction. Don't you tell me that Jesus would risk being guilty of having "...hands that shed innocent blood" (Proverbs 7:16,17), by serving intoxicating wine to others! No way! But you say, Jesus expected people to be responsible for their own actions!" Yes, but Jesus knew, just as any other honest person today knows, that many people AREN'T responsible!!! Don't you tell me that Jesus would risk some child being beaten, by a drunken father, who drank alcohol that Jesus made!
The entire civil law in the Old Testament teaches RESPONSIBILITY for our actions. Jesus knew the Word of God better than anyone else. Don't you dare insult the Son of God by claiming that He would be an accomplice to drunkenness. Jesus turned the water into the fruit of the vine, NOT fermented (aged) wine. Furthermore, 1st Corinthians 6:10 declares, "...Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Drunkenness is a sin! Drunkenness will keep a man out of Heaven! Please notice the other sins listed in this Scripture. Is a little stealing ok? No! Is a little extortion ok? No! Is a little covetousness ok? No! So what makes you think that a little drunkenness is ok (a buzz)? To get a "buzz" is wicked sin! It only takes a few drinks to get drunk. Do you think Jesus would help people commit a sin which the Word of God teaches will keep them out of Heaven? How ignorant, ridiculous, and insulting for anyone to claim that Jesus served intoxicating alcohol to others. It goes against everything taught in the Bible.
Alcohol is Liquid Devil
Let the heathen rage, alcohol is straight from Hell. If I had my way, alcohol would be outlawed completely. It is common sense folks. Anytime you have something which causes millions of injuries and deaths a year, it needs to be outlawed. If Americans were responsible, it would be a different story; but many of them are not. But you ask, "Why should everyone suffer because of the irresponsibility of a few?" Because we DON'T know who those few are until the tragedies happen. Fireworks used to hurt many people (especially little children), so they were rightfully outlawed. So why aren't the SAME precautionary steps taken to protect children from drunk drivers. The answer is found in 1st Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil..." Children are DYING because of greedy lawyers, politicians, alcohol manufacturers, lawmakers, etc. These villains will be held accountable by God for every drop of alcohol they sold. They will be held fully accountable for every evil caused by their liquid Devil. They can deny the truth all they want, twisting the facts and rationalizing their works of darkness; but judgment day is coming, and God won't be mocked...
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." -Galatians 6:7
